The cutting of e-Vasilopita (New Year’s cake) 2006 of the Hellenismus (Emigrant, Greece, Cyprus) and philhellenists was
held on 18 March 2006, at 14:30 on INTERNET at www.vasilopita.gr.
There are 7 (seven) FLOURI (lucky GOLD coins), which symbolize the 5 CONTINENTS, Cyprus and Greece and many many
signs* (Bean, Corn, Wheat, Broad-bean, Branchlet, etc), as our grandfathers and grand grandfathers used to put in the traditional
VASILOPITA at some areas of Greece.
The pieces of e-Vasilopita were cut in the STUDIO of “ET 3” TV during the programme called “DIASPORA” (dispersion), by
the journalist Mrs. Ch. Samos, on behalf of the Ecumenical Patriarch,
the Sub-Minister of the exterior Mr. Th. Kassimis,
the foreign Minister of Cyprus Mr. G. Iakovou,
the President of “SAE” (Emigrant Hellenism Association) Mr. A. Athens,
the Alternate President of “SAE” Mr. S. Tabakis,
the Vice-President of North and South America’s “SAE” Mr. Ch. Tomaras
and the “ET 3” TV.
In addition, a piece was cut by each of the bellow:
=> the six-years-old (with his mother) ALEXANDER ETEIWI through his Personal Computer from Aman of Jordan
=> the businessman I. Stougiannidis of a Computer of the Greek School in Harare of Zimbabwe
Each of the above two won a FLOURI last year, at the cutting of e-Vasilopita 2005.
Also, the president of the Union of Greek Youth of Germany Mrs. S. Karypidis cut a piece.

This special virtual VASILOPITA(cutting) lacks in taste and personal contact, but the main meaning of cutting a ‘Vasilopita’ touches us,
which is AMITY, EQUALITY, HOSPITALITY, RESPECT, COMMUNICATION, JUSTICE, UNITY.
Εγινε στις 18 Μαρτίου 2006 η κοπή της e-ΒΑΣΙΛΟΠΙΤΑΣ 2006 ολου του ΕΛΛΗΝΙΣΜΟΥ (ΑΠΟΔΗΜΟΥ, ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ, ΚΥΠΡΟΥ) και φιλελλήνων
Στην e-ΒΑΣΙΛΟΠΙΤΑ 2006 υπάρχουν 7(ΕΠΤΑ) ΦΛΟΥΡΙΑ που συμβολίζουν τις 5 ΗΠΕΙΡΟΥΣ, την ΚΥΠΡΟ και την ΕΛΛΑΔΑ και πολλά πολλά ΣΗΜΑΔΙΑ (Φασόλι, Καλαμπόκι, Σιτάρι, Κουκί, Κλαδάκι κλπ) όπως τοποθετούσαν στις παραδοσιακές βασιλόπιτες οι γενιές των παπούδων και προπαππούδων μας σε κάποιες περιοχές της Ελλάδος. Τα κομμάτια της e-ΒΑΣΙΛΟΠΙΤΑΣ κόπηκαν στο STUDIO της ΕΤ3 TV κατά τη διάρκεια της εκπομπής
ΔΙΑΣΠΟΡΑ απο τη δημοσιογράφο Χ. Σάμου, για λογαριασμό του Οικουμενικού Πατριάρχη ,του Υφυπουργού εξωτερικών κ. Θ. Κασσίμη, του Υπουργού εξωτερικών της Κύπρου κ. Γ. Ιακώβου, του Προέδρου του ΣΑΕ κ. Α. Αθενς, του Αναπληρωτή προέδρου του ΣΑΕ κ. Σ. Ταμβάκη, του Αντιπροέδρου του ΣΑΕ Βορείου & Νοτίου
Αμερικής κ. Χ. Τομαρά και για την ΕΤ3.
Επίσης από ένα ομμάτι έκοψαν οι:
= Ο 6χρονος(η μητέρα του) ALEXANDER ETEIWI από τον Υπολογιστή του από το ΑΜΑΝ της ΙΟΡΔΑΝΙΑΣ
= Ο Επιχειρηματίας Ι. Στουγιαννίδης απο Υπολογιστή του ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟΥ ΣΧΟΛΕΙΟΥ στη HARARE της Zimbabwe
Οι ανωτέρω δύο έτυχαν ΦΛΟΥΡΙ πέρυσι στην κοπή της e-ΒΑΣΙΛΟΠΙΤΑΣ 2005
Επίσης ένα κομμάτι έκοψε και η πρόεδρος της ΕΝΩΣΗΣ ΝΕΟΛΑΙΑΣ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ ΓΕΡΜΑΝΙΑΣ κ. Σ. Καρυπίδου
Η σημασία των ΣΗΜΑΔΙΩΝ περιγράφεται(για όσους είχαν στο κομμάτι τους κάποιο ΣΗΜΑΔΙ)από τη λαογράφο κ. Α. ΤΖΗΝΙΚΟΥ στο Το έθιμο της Βασιλόπιτας
