The cutting of the virtual New Year Cake 2009 through the internet of the whole Hellenism and Philhellenism took place on 6 February 2009 between 00.00 and 00.30 after midnight at our web site www.vasilopita.gr , in which the registration have touched the number of 3540(Greeks and Philhellenes from all over the world)

The cutting of the New Year Cake of 2009 took place in the program of ERT World TV, called ODYSSEY, in frame of its satellite program, by the journalists Afentra Varsamakidou and Antonis Alafogiorgos on Friday 6/2/09 at 00.00-00.30 after midnight. The first two pieces were cut for the Chairman of the Emigrant Hellenism Council, Mr. Stefanos Tamvakis The next seven pieces for the regional coordinators of ΣΑΕ, that means

ΤΟ ΠΡΟΕΔΡΕΙΟ ΤΟΥ ΣΑΕ the coordinator, George Angelopoulos of the region ΣΑΕ of Oceania, the coordinator, Mr. Ivan Savvidis of the region ΣΑΕ of the countries of the Former Soviet Union, the coordinator Mr. Nikiforos Nikolaidis of the region ΣΑΕ of the southern and central America, the coordinator of region ΣΑΕ of Africa and East, the coordinator, Mr. George Amaradithis of the region ΣΑΕ of Europe, the coordinator Mr. Costas Menegakis of the region ΣΑΕ of Canada, the coordinator Mr Theodoros Spyropoulos of the region ΣΑΕ of USA And the rest were cut for the newly established Youth and emigrant Hellenism Networks. A greeting message for this event that connects in a special way the Greeks and Philhellenes from all over the world was send by the ecumenical Patriarch, the Minister of Transports and Communications Mr. Euripides Stylianidis, the former Minister of Cyprus, Mr. G. Iakovou, the honorary chairman of ΣΑΕ Mr. A.Athens, the chairman of ΣΑΕ Mr. Stefanos Tamvakis, the seven regional coordinators, the undersecretaries of exterior, Sirs. P. Scandalakis, John Magriotis, the chairman of the interparties committee of Parliament about the Emigrant Hellenism, Mr. Nick Tsartsionis and other representatives of the Hellenism

In the virtual New Year Cake of 2009 except for the 9 coins that are from real golden cover KONSTANTINATA 24c, from silver 999th copy of the age of the Great Konstantinos 324 aC, there are also marks( wheat, bean, leaf of olive oil, pomegranate etc), as they used to place in the traditional New Year Cakes the generations of our grand fathers and great-grand fathers in some regions of Greece.
